It is 72 degrees today!! With the “bipolar” weather we have in Texas, we try to get outdoors every chance we get. That is exactly what we did today. We started off with a bike ride around the neighborhood, arrived back at the house and had a mud fight, and then wrapped it up with a picnic out in the fort before nap time.
Our picnic consisted of PB&J on whole grain bread. I used cookie cutters to make fun shapes with the sandwiches. A flower, heart, and butterfly cookie cutter. Lily says it’s not a picnic without a cheese stick, so we had to have our cheese sticks. We also had sliced red and orange bell peppers. The clementines were delicious.
We love to dip our pretzels in our hummus. Sabra hummus is my absolute favorite brand. I found these snack size containers at Tom Thumb. Love them! They are great on the go, in the kid’s lunches, or for a picnic. 😀 www.sabra.com
I believe parents who have good exercise and eating habits will provide their kids with a great foundation for healthy habits. The best way to raise children to have healthy habits is to lead by example.
Have a happy day and thank goodness for nap time. 😉
